Wave chair

Wave chair

Wave chair

This is a prototype made for my exhibition stand at 100%Design in 1999. It's in plywood with the seat/back surface covered in Alcantara. The idea was to design a simple, lightweight chair that is very comfortable - the comfort coming from the wave shape. It's flat-pack : two painted sides, and two plywood 'shells' forming the back and the seat, fixed together with bolts through the sides (which show). I subsequently developed this wave shape more successfully in my 'Trombe' bench in 2001.

Please note this is a handmade prototype that is nearly 20 years old, it is not a finished production piece and it is not in perfect condition. If you'd like me to send more photos please get in touch.

The price does not include delivery, please let me know where you are and I'll find the most cost-effective way of getting it to you.

This is the sort of chair I was interested in before I got seduced by Windsor chairs, Bodging Milano, and Sitting Firm!

Dimensions : 82cm high x 46.5cm wide x 55cm deep.
